As most of you know, Kyle's car started making loud ass noises and it died on him. After many suggestions I went one day to his place to help him find out what the issue was. We finally got the car to start, with a jump, and it sounded like a bad diesel truck.......we knew the motor threw a bearing or rod.
I offered my help, another opportunity to learn, and we towed his car to my place. The first day we worked on it we were able to remove the entire intake manifold off the car. We only worked on the car an hour or two.
The car sat out in the street while he found someone with an engine lift. This weekend he finally found a friend with a lift. So, yesterday we spent a couple of hours getting the motor ready for the lift. All we left intact was the transmission bolts and the crossmember connection.
Today was the big day! Kyle brought the lift with two friends. After reading the manual, it gave us step by step instructions on what to do before removal. We removed all transmission-to-engine bolts and the two crossmember nuts. Kyle's friend strapped down the motor. ****Lesson learned: Reading the manual it stated to remove the slave cylinder, a hex cap right below it, and to remove the clutch release bearing shaft. We removed this, after a trip to Kragen by Kyle and his friends, and disengaged the clutch release bearing. I have assisted in removing/installing two Subaru transmissions (5 and 6 speed) and we never did this. Seperation of the transmision was a bitch.
After the above was done, we lift the engine a little and with the help of the perfect tool, crow-bar, the engine was out in less then 5 minutes! I'm sure that dis-engaging the clutch realese bearing had something to do with it. Well, below are the pics, enjoy! *****sorry for the long story :)******
So you don't have your cash back from the shop, your car isn't running yet, your hood is still red, but you're looking into getting a reverse hood scoop? Right?
lmfao, so true. Why dont you just worry about getting your car running first, then you can work on trying to fix up your car.
So cash back from shop is going through courts. So that process is soon to be taken.
Hood being red is part of the love. Car running is after money comes along. The reverse scoop was thought about because some one has it for 50 instead of the 200 that they usually are.
or you could save the $50 and put it toward your motor build.. just a thought.. reverse scoop is a good buy.. but having a running car to put it on first would generally be the train of thought I would follow. to each his own though. hope the car gets back on the road soon mang.
Oh I know I am not expecting to get the money right away thats why right now I am throwing in 300 out of each pay check into savings and gonna use that to fix the car and then put the winnings back in savings. But I am thinking some time between now and the end of year will be able to hear it start up... crossing fingers
So on Tuesday I go to court to get my money back. Well things just keep getting better! A neighbor moving out just hit and run my car! They destroyed the whole front end! Here is a pic!

This is by far one of the worst hit and runs ( while car was parked ) that ive seen... was it a moving truck?
Great news I got her name! Also have a witness!!!!!!! Police have been informed! Damage does not look to bad. Need new fender, bumper, headlights, and grill
My case is going into the master files so if they get another case file then they are done. My only thought is that they are gonna appeal and draw this thing out even more.
